Pakistan Climate Change Act, 2017
The Act established the Pakistan Climate Change Council headed by the Prime Minister and consisting of the ministers from various departments like the minister in charge of the Climate change, food security, agriculture etc. The act states the conservation and protection of renewable and nonrenewable resources, species, habitats and especially the biodiversity which is being affected by climate change.

Global Change Impact Studies Centre Act, 2013
This law establishes the Global Change Impact Studies Centre in order to research and understand the impact of climate change in Pakistan. The centre is also responsible for holding conferences, seminars and training along with generating public awareness.

Pakistan Environment Protection Act 1997
The Act was aimed at providing protection to the environment for its improvement along with rehabilitation, control of pollution and promotion of sustainable ways of development. Under this act, departments including provincial sustainable development funds and establishing environment protection agencies and prohibition of certain discharges and emissions.

National Environmental Quality Standards (Self-Monitoring and Reporting by Industry) Rules 2001
The Rules build upon The Pakistan Environment Protection Act 1997, with specific industry rules. Under these rules, all industries are responsible for reporting their Environmental Monitoring Reports to the Federal Agency, with industries being grouped into 3 categories based on their pollution levels and each category having its own regulations and rules detailed in the Act.

Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Act 2012
The act delegates certain rules regarding the trade of endangered Wild Fauna and Flora in line with the United Nations Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora 1973, including amendments that were accepted by Pakistan. The rules lay that the export and import of such species is prohibited, baring special conditions, and all trade must pass through the proper customs and regulating bodies. Failure to comply with these rules could lead to imprisonment of at least 1 year and a fine of at least 0.5 million rupees.

Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Rules 2018
The Rules build upon the Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Act 2012, specifying 13 members from different organisations to form a Management Authority. The rules specify that the management authority must meet at least once a year and would be responsible for the issuing of permits, to maintain records of international trade, to coordinate implementation of regulations and to perform all other duties required in the act. Additionally, a Scientific Authority may be constituted in each region and province of Pakistan. Moreover, the Rules designate 8 land ports for the trade of specimens.

Ban on (Manufacturing, Import, Sale, Purchase, Storage and Usage) Polythene Bags Regulations 2019
Puts a restriction on importers and distributors of polythene bags in Islamabad Territory. As per the Regulations, unauthorised manufacture, import/distribution, sale, purchase, storage and usage of polythene bags is not allowed. The law has exemptions for certain uses such as hospital waste and industrial packing but only if it has the authorization from Pak-EPA. These regulations restrictions on importers.

Non-Degradable Plastic Products Regulation 2015
Prohibits the use of non-degradable plastic products in manufacturing, sale and usage. It states that the plastic that is non-degradable should not be traded, imported, stockpiled, supplied, distributed or used in any sector.
